The underground trails are fascinating, and not too strenuous. One way to enter the cave is at a natural entrance and follow a 3-mile trail. The other way is to go to the visitor center and take the elevator down 754 feet to the Big Room, a cavern chamber with a 250-foot ceiling. Both underground trails end up at the elevator. Above ground there are about 50 miles of backcountry trails available to explore the desert flatlands, and the canyons and ridges of the Guadalupe Mountains. The trails range from 1 1/2 miles to 13 1/2 miles, and range from moderately difficult to strenuous. They are only lightly used, and in some areas are partially overgrown with desert plants, contributing to a quiet solitude experience.

RV Rentals a Popular Travel Option
Let's Go RV/Camping!
Broken Down...Now What!?
No matter how well it’s built, no matter how well designed, eventually everything with moving parts wears out or suffers a breakdown. RVs are no exception. When the engine starts knocking on an empty Kansas road on the way to see the world’s largest frying pan, what do you do?
Banking With the Road Warriors
RVers have the freedom to travel to any location, any time they want a change of scenery. However, like any army, travel is limited by the supply line. An RVer without convenient banking services while on the road is as tied to geography as those poor souls without an RV.
Staying In Touch With Family While On Your RV Trip
YouTube is a great way to share videos from your RV trip, and since internet access while traveling is so widely available, it’s easy to do while on the road.
Insuring Your RV Investment
At first glance, finding insurance for your RV might seem like a complex project. After all, how do you insure your home-on-wheels? Never fear. Not only can your dealer and your lender both provide you with RV insurance, but there are also many other firms that specialize in RV insurance.
Essential RV Parts and Tools to Carry While On the Road
One of the goals of all RVers is to carry a tool box, but never have to open it. Unfortunately, since RVs are essentially rolling homes loaded with the conveniences that make traveling and relaxing more fun, we have to be prepared to “fix” something that is not working quite right or not working at all.
