River’s End Campground & RV Park… You’re So Close to Savannah

Savannah SunsetYou can sit around lovely River’s End Campground on Tybee Island, Georgia if you want to (you actually could; it’s quite nice) , but do you really want to miss what Savannah, Georgia has to offer? Historic downtown Savannah is just a hop, skip, and jump away from River’s End Campground and RV park. The folks at the RV Park claim theirs is the closest RV park to downtown Savannah. And why does that matter to your and yours? Let’s take a look:

Savannah, Georgia is considered by more than a few to be one of the loveliest cities in the entire United States of America. And that’s saying something. The city evokes the old South at its finest: heavily tree-lined avenues, parks everywhere, and those Southern style homes that make you ache with longing. So beautiful. And the perfumed aroma of local flowers on old town squares… remarkable. If getting around is a challenge for you physically, or you just want to see as much as possible as quickly as you can, check out the Historic Savannah Trolley tour with its 14 trolley stops. Get on and off to explore whenever and whatever you like. Another option is taking a carriage tour. Isn’t there just something about a carriage?

Tybee Island Lighthouse In case you or yours tire of constant beauty, there’s far more to Savannah than that. You can take one of their river cruises on a Southern riverboat, which is always a kick. Many folks find the Ghost Tours compelling in a creepy way; you may have to discover why the ghost thing is so big in Savanna (your kids may get quite excited about the whole thing!). One of the tours combines a walking and “ghost” sighting walking tour with fascinating information about the haunts. No one guarantees you’ll see a ghost, however if you do, be sure to let everyone know about it.

There are multiple special interests attractions in Savannah: The Ships of the Sea Museum (dedicate to old, great ships), a dolphin tour, and movie tours. Yes, great movies have been filmed in and around Savannah, so if you’re a film buff, check this one out. You’ll never run out of things to do in Savannah, but once you’re ready to head back to River’s End Campground and RV, you’ll be on Tybee Island again, which is its own destination point. Little ocean communities are just cool and Tybee Island is one: lovely beaches, an awesome Lighthouse, and a Marine Science Center (check out the Sea Turtle Project). They let youngsters touch and interact with many creatures. Since water’s the big thing, you’ll find sea kayaking tours on the Island. You don’t have to know how to kayak (or do anything!) because tours geared to all ages and ability levels are available.

You’ll like River’s End RV Park. It offers what you need in its 150 RV sites, but equally important is its location just blocks from the beach and river. Can you say “fishing?” The RV park has a pool, store (small) , game room, dump station, air conditioned new bath houses, WI-FI, free TV cable, and laundry.
